Freshmen Enrichment Program

FEP stand for Freshmen Enrichment Program, an activity that all freshmen of BINUS University should attend because it really help us to collect SAT points as requirement for graduating. The minimum SAT point that should be collected was 120 points. By attending FEP, freshmen could collect 100 SAT points. Not only we got SAT points, but we could register to be Buddy Coordinator (BC) if had pass FEP as well. Then, what is BC ? BC are coordinator that helped buddy, designation of freshmen, during FEP to recognize more about BINUS University.

FEP was divided into 3 parts ; General Orientation(GO), Academic Orientation, and Campus Life Orientation.

General Orientation was last for 5 days from 18 August to 23 August. It took place in Syahdan Campus and Anggrek Campus. On the first day , we had a briefing on syahdan campus. On this session, all of us introduced ourselves one by one and our BC as well. On this first day, freshmen were told about anthem of Binus University and anthem of  Binusian. We were not just told about the song but we also sang the songs together.

On the second day, Wednesday, 19 Aug 2015, there were two session. The first one was Binus Way. On this session was brought by Vise Rector in auditorium. The second session was Binus Journey. On this section, we were told how to use Binus Maya as a bridge between college student and lecturer.

Thursday, 20 Aug 2015, there were two session as well like the day before. The first one was Bunga Rampai. I heard from several people that they called it as BuRam. On this moment, we could know and get information about every communities which we could join to. The other one was College, Examination, and Registration. From this session, all of us were told about the college life what we were going to do in college for 4 years. Then, about the examination, we were told about what kind of exam there were and what we should prepare and bring during examination.

Friday, 21 Aug 2015, we had worship and we made a group according to our religion. After that, the next session was Success in College and Campus Rules.

On the last day, all of HMJ and UKM opened a registration for us to register and it was end on 12.00 pm. The last activity that we did was showed our performance in sport hall Syahdan campus.

Academic Orientation, it was simulation of real college life and last for 2 weeks. AO had a purpose for freshmen, so these freshmen were not shocked with different culture of teaching between senior high school and campus. While AO, we learned about the basic of the major that had chose according to my major. On the first day, I learned about algorithm and same on the next day. On the last day, we had an exam about C programming language. The day before I and several of my friends gathered to study together. We were also told about our supervisor of our major on curriculum section. The last two classes that we had were Academic Advisory and Support Center for Your Success.

In General Orientation and Academic Orientation, all of us were told to learn soft skills that used when worked in industry. What are soft skills ? There are Teamwork, Self-management, Communication, Initiative & Enterprise, Problem solving & Decision making, Planning & Organizing, Innovation capability and more. How we could get it. Well, every freshmen should register to one HMJ / UKM. By joining organization, we could learn about all soft skills that we should have.

On 12 September 2015, HIMTI stand for Himpunan Mahasiswa Teknik Informasi in Bahasa, held an event called HTTP (HIMTI Togetherness and Top Performance) for all freshmen especially School of Computer Science of BINUS University. HTTP was held in BTTP II from 9am to 6pm. There were many performance and some guest star that had been prepared for us such as finalist HIMTI Got Talent, HIMTI Band, dance, DJ Party, Talk show.
